Phu
Sang National Park consists of an alternating mountain landscape next
to the border of Laos. The mountains range from 440 to 1,548 meters from
the average sea level. The highest peak is Pa Mon Peak at the height of
1,548 meters which is the origin of Laos River, Ngao River, Puey River,
Bong River and Yuan River. These rivers are the rivers that nourish the
agriculture areas of AmphurPhu Sang, Amphur Chiang Ka of Payao and
AmphurTerng of Chiangrai. There are 3 seasons which are rainy season
during June to September, winter during October to February and summer
during March to May.
The forests in Phu Sang National Park area is various such as mixed
forest (around 50%), dry dipterocarp forest (around 30%), hill evergreen
forest (around 10%), dry evergreen forest (around 8%) and coniferous
forest (around 2%). Moreover, there are many kinds of animals to be
found here such as deer, monkey, gibbon, dhole, squirrel, palm civet,
northern treeshrew and many kinds of rare birds. The Phu Sang National
Park determined the platysernidae as the signal of the national park.
