Ao Manao Forest Park is located at Moo 1, Karoo Wor Nua Sub-district, Mueang
Narathiwat District, Narathiwat. Drive on highway no. 4084
(Narathiwat-Takbai) for 3 km to the intersection leading to the seaside.
The beach is 3 km away. It is a long beach connecting to the east coast
of Pattani for 4 km creating a bay with overlapping rocky seashore. Ao
Manao Forest Park borders Thaksin Ratchaniwet Palace.
Her
Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the people of a
neighborhood at Baan Bang Ma Nao, Moo 1, Karoo Wor Nua sub-district,
Muang district, Narathiwat province. She wanted to improve economy,
education, culture, and tourism of the area. The royal forest department
responded to that by exploring the area of Khao Tanyong National
Reserved Forest outside Thaksin Ratchaniwet Palace to establish a
national park and named it "Ao Manao National Park". The department had
the park registered on 21st April 1993.
This area has very rich and beautiful nature of white sandy
beaches and overlapping rocky seashore. There are different kinds of
wild shore plants in various shapes. The area of the national park is
23,278.25 rai.
On the beach, there are an arboretum and lines of pine trees suitable for relaxation as well as an approximately 1 km long beach
forest walking trail. Plants usually found in the area are fond of
dryness. Visitors who would like to stay overnight can choose from
several private accommodations nearby.
