Attraction Details :
There are two ways to
ascend to the beautiful WatWoranatBanphot, which sits on the peak of
Khao Kop mountain: take a stairway of 439 steps, which towers 186 meters
above sea level, or take a more relaxing walk up an asphalt road.
Hundreds of years have passed since relics of the Lord Buddha was
enshrined in a pagoda at the mountain’s peak, but locals continue to
travel to worship it.The Department of Religious Affairs and the kingdom’s religious organization, the Sangha Supreme Council, praised the temple in 1966 as the best model development temple. The contrast between the historic pagoda and nearby television relay structures offers an interesting study.
Follow Highway No. 32 (Asian Highway) and turn right onto Highway No. 117, then another right onto Highway No. 1 (old highway) into NakhonSawan Municipality. Turn left before reaching the municipality, and drive up Khao Kop. It is about one kilometer from the city.
