Samutprakarn Crocodile
Farm and Zoo located on Taiban Road, in Taiban sub-district, Muang
district, Samutprakarn, was established in 1950. It is the biggest
crocodile farm in the world. Today, there are over 100,000 crocodiles
including other species of animals.Visitors will get to see most types of crocodiles in this farm from 1 foot long to 6 meters long crocodiles and from normal and special species. The special ones include golden crocodiles, 5-leg crocodile and no-tail crocodile. Also, visitors can learn about the life cycle of crocodiles from the hatch period to breed period. Besides, in every 1 hour, there will be a crocodile show offering to visitors.
Another popular show includes the elephant show which will be set in every 1 hour manifesting the abilities of elephants.
Besides crocodiles and elephants, there are also other animals including chimpanzees, camels, hippos, deer and many more. In addition, there is also a dinosaur museum displaying bones and models of dinosaurs with multi-vision slides describing human and ancient creatures.
To visit, from Bangna intersection, continue on Sukhumvit road. When reaching Sai Luad T-junction to Samut Prakarn around Pho curve, notice the sign saying turning right to Crocodile farm. You can also take the air-conditioned bus 536 Crocodile Farm-Victory Monument or take the bus 507, 508 or 511. Another option is to take a normal bus number 25 or 102 to Samut Prakarn province and then take the minibus Paknam-Crocodile Farm at the center of the city.
Office hour: Daily from 08.00-18.00.
Entrance fees: 80 baht for Thai adults and 50 baht for kids/ 300 baht for foreigners and 200 baht for kids.
