Situated in a temple
named Wat Morakot, Sa Morakot Archeological Site holds special
significance for Buddhists. The most fascinating attraction is the
largest and oldest Lord Buddha’s “footprints”, carvings made from
natural laterite. On both soles, artisans carved the Buddhist Wheel of
Dharma. The footprints were created between the 7th and 9th centuries.
To get there, from Prachin Buri,
proceed along Suwinthawong Road. Take Highway No. 319 (Prachin Buri –
Phanom Sarakham) for about 23 kilometers, then turn left and proceed for
another 500 meters.
