This temple holds
special historic significance for Phatthalung. It was built by Phraya
Phatthalung (Thongkhao) during the reign of King Rama III. During the
early Rattanakosin period, government officials also performed
allegiance pledges to the King at this temple. Inside the convocation
hall are murals of dusted paint, created during the reign of King Rama
IV, depicting the lifeof Lord Buddha and angels. The main plaster Buddha
image also originates from the same period. A total of 108 statues line
the balcony around the building.This historic temple is located in Tambon Lam Pam, 6 kilometers from the city on Highway No. 4047 (on the same route as Khao Ok Thalu). It is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm. For more information, call 0 7423 1055, 0 7423 8518, or 0 7424 3747.
