The 700-acre Prommitr
Film Studio in Kanchanaburi was created to serve as a filming location
of Thailand’s greatest historic trilogy movie The Legend of King
Naresuan, that portrays the history of King Naresuan the Great who freed
Siam (former Thailand) from the ancient Burmese (Hongsavadi) kingdom
during the Ayutthaya Era in circa 1584. The set then comprises of
abundant replicas of gilded chedis, temples, ordination halls and
traditional villages of anciant Siam and Burmese people. Architectures
and buildings you have only read from legends have become true here;
with highlights include the Sanphet Prasat throne hall, of which its
real build was burned down during the war as well as the Lion Throne of
the ancient king.Visitors can actually spend the whole day wandering around the set featuring stunning buildings, learn the history of the ancient kingdoms through exhibitions and lectures, and try putting on ancient-style clothing and have a photograph opportunity,

Getting there: It is located at Surasi Military Camp, which is about 24 kilometres away from Kanchanaburi Town. Take Route 3199 Kanchanaburi – Srinakarin Dam for 18 kilometres to Lat Ya Intersection. Then turn right to Surasi Military Camp and follow the signs for around 3 kilometres.
