Attraction Details :
This monastery is the
biggest and oldest ancient remains in Phetchaburi. It was built in 13
A.D. when the influence of ancient Khmer culture expanded to this area.
Originally, there were five prangs (Khmer-style pagoda) made of
sandstone to worship accordance with Bhramanism. When the influence of
Buddhism prevailed in the region, it was turned into a Buddhist temple. A
Shrine hall was later constructed in the compound. Today, visitors can
only admire the remaining three prangs which remain next to the
sandstone walls.http://www.tourismthailand.org/See-and-Do/Sights-and-Attractions-Detail/Wat-Kamphaeng-Laeng--5234
